If you thought the Conga had died out in the 80s then its time to take a deep breath. Undercoders, a small development team from Barcelona have took it upon their liberty to resurrect one of the all time classic (and cringe-worthy) party dances. Luckily, its in pixelated form, and extremely addictive.
Rising Star Games are responsible for publishing Conga Master, and its available right now on Steam. We saw it on demo at this years EGX and the booth was never short of a crowd of people. And as soon as you start playing this game you can see why.
Conga Master is a simplistic yet very addictive game. The rules are simple, keep your momentum going and fill up your conga line. The controls are just as easy, with only having 2 buttons to control your movement, this game is completely focused around its gameplay. You start off by entering a disco hall, and your straight into the action. Dance around nearby punters in order to get them motivated enough to join your conga line. As your line grows, your momentum increases and it becomes easier to recruit people. But you also need to keep your eyes on the momentum meter as it will continually drop as time passes. If the meter runs out, its game over.
The full game includes more than 30 characters to unlock over 7 different club locations, it has 6 different local multiplayer modes and a single player storyline which takes you on a nights quest to become the king of the city. As the game progresses you wont be alone, youl need to battle it out with other conga masters to achieve the longest line. There's also plenty of secrets to discover along the way.
Conga Master is one of those games that revolves around a repetitive idea, yet never becomes tiresome to play. Its great for single or multiplayer modes and will produce hours of fun. There have been some slight concerns that the £7.99 price tag is a little hefty for what is essentially a party mini game. But personally i think its a fair price compared to the fun you will get out of it. Its a game that is relevant for all ages, and whether your a casual or hardcore gamer its sure to bring a smile to your face.
Conga Master is available now for Mac/PC and will be released on home consoles early 2017.
