Paccie is a PS2 concept art idea by Phoenix Games.
The image was orignally to be a PS1 title named Block & Go although this idea never went into development and was only advertised on the Dutch Phoenix website for less than 1 month (June 2003).
The game was featured under the "coming soon" section although it was quickly removed and would not resurface on the internet again until 2008 wen a Neo-Gaf member refrenced it in a "crappy games" thread.
It has then resurfaced several times over the past 12 years due to many websites listing it as released in 2004.

The mystery of Paccie was already documented on the internet from around 2016 but this information was recently lost in 2020 when the PlaystationCollecting website was finally discontinued.

The original artwork was created in 1994 by R Husmo. The image was created for a monthly contest that had users creating artwork based on a set keyword or phrase. That months entry was "games". The image was originally never intended to be used as the artwork for a video game. It is unsure if Phoenix liscenced the image, although they have been known to use other images created by R Husmo. In 2019 R Husmo was contacted (by us here at retrodetect) and he ceased communications when we asked about the Paccie cover art. Its unsure if he thought we were there to mock him, or if he just doesnt want to talk about the image in question.

There is a 8 second video clip on Youtube claiming to be mechanics from the Paccie game. However this video is nothing to do with the game itself. The video was made by the Youtube user 00waldo in 2010.
