Air Raid 3 was developed by Mere Mortals and published by Phoenix Games. Though despite its name, there are no previous entries to the series. There was a game for the Atari 2600 named Air Raid, though this version is not a direct link to it. However, Air Raid 3 is a game that Atari themselves would distribute not only in single form, but in various PS2 tripple packs aswel. So it cannot be ruled out that it stands as an unofficial part of the Atari series.
Triple packs include:
Air Raid 3 / Metal Slug Anthology / King of Fighters xi
Air Raid 3 / Test Drive / Search & Destroy
Air Raid 3 / Matrix Reloaded / Swords of Destiny
It is beleived that Air Raid 3 is the most distributed Phoenix Games release, having at least 3 seperate print runs.
