RetroDetect - The source for obscure gaming knowledge

Ghosthouse was a movie i came across in the mid 90s that i fell in love with straight away. Its based around some Ham Radio enthusiasts who get a strange message come through the radio waves, which turns out to be a premonition they are unaware of. After meeting a bunch of friends at an old run down house it soon becomes apparent that the message they received came from that very same place, and then they all start getting murdered 1 by 1.

After some detective work it gets discovered that an evil spirit rests inside a clown doll that sits in the basement of the house and its upto the survivors to figure out howto release it so they can all keep their heads.

Its a fun cheesy movie that was a perfect watch. Being a huge fan of 80s horror, this movie has everything i needed. The drama, the suspence, the questionable acting, inventive ways to die, and a cliffhanger ending.

HOWEVER......

Ghosthouse 2 sadly doesnt live upto the original. It is a direct sequel, and continues directly from the GH 1 ending, something i thought was a great idea when i first saw it. But the storyline seems to go in a confusing direction, and its pretty much a bad continuation. Its not completely horrible to watch, it just doesnt live upto the first.
